just wondering if thats a good idea and it might help whiten my teeth and make them stronger, or is leaving pure toothpaste on your teeth for along time bad and overpowering?

If you’re looking to whiten your teeth I highly recommend crest whitening strips. It’s about 30 dollars a box but if you follow the directions and use them regularly, your teeth get really white fast. I tend to leave my strips on a little longer than the recommended time just to get them whiter faster.

Doing so won’t be effective, as whitening toothpaste is designed to work via brushing, not just sitting there. Fluoride is also slightly poisonous and should not be ingested (small amounts are ok, no need to call the poison control center if you accidentally swallow the amount of toothpaste normally used for brushing, but it’s not something you should do intentionally).

Whitening strips or trays are designed to adhere to the teeth and contain a whitening ingredient that removes stains from the teeth via contact. The strips or trays also adhere lightly to the teeth, so they are not washed away by saliva like tooth paste would be. I’ve personally used the store brand whitening trays, which run about $ 23 for a 10-day treatment and are extremely effective.

No. Not bad at all. Especially with whitening/fluoride. A rule of thumb especially with whitening and fluoride is that “Don’t eat or drink 30 mins after applying.” You’ll see this mainly on mouthwashes and fluoride paste. You however don’t see it on many toothpastes but it’s a good thing to do. If you eat or drink right after applying fluoride, your basically washing it away. A good time to use fluoride is at night, as you are not eating or drinking in your sleep.

Thin teeth? No. Use mouthwash at night. This will provide fluoride and reduce the pH in your mouth.

As well, whitening toothpastes are NOT designed for only brushing. It is only a plus to the toothpaste (no eating/drinking 30 mins after) The whitening does its job..brushing does not make it quicker or better.

Also, the active ingredient in “Crest WhiteStrips” is Hydrogen Peroxide. Readily available anywhere….

To be honest i don’t think it will make a difference.
If you want to whiten your teeth there’s a few different things you could do. You could try brushing your teeth with baking soda, if you do that once or twice a week you should see a improvement. The only problem with that is whether you would remember to actually do it, because i didn’t. The best ways to whiten your teeth would be to use bleaching trays or have you teeth laser whitened.
If getting them professionally done is too expensive then you can get whitening trays and bleach in stores or off ebay. I know it sounds a bit dodgy but the ebay ones are actually really good. Just make sure you do not buy any bleach over 25% otherwise it will wreck your teeth and make them very sensitive.

I hope that helps

no its not a good idea. better go for the following home teeth whitening tip or methods of teeth whitening, used by people around the world are as follows:

1. Application of a paste of lemon juice and salt in the yellowish tint of the teeth is a wonderful way of eradicating that dull color of the teeth.

2. Rubbing the inner white part of an orange peel in the discolored teeth gives a lovely white shine.

3. Regular use of paste of bi-carbonate of soda with water removes the surface stain from the teeth.

4. Dried and powdered Bay leaves combined with dried orange peel also acts as an excellent whitener.

All these home teeth whitening methods when done regularly can give an excellent result.
