I would like to use whitening products such as the Crest whitening toothpaste, mouthwash, and strips. My only problem is that I had a chipped tooth a few years back, and had the dentist fix it. Will the products whiten my teeth along with the tooth filling? Or will it not whiten the filling at all, and my teeth will come out two-toned? Thanks in advance!

Calcium peroxide could form hydrogen peroxide in a weak solution so this product may have a mild bleaching action.”

Another dental care company is producing Pearl Drops Hollywood Smile Toothpaste claiming: “With advanced micro-polishing system and peroxi-white active oxygen. Two shades whiter in three weeks or your money back!”

Dr Bartlett says: “Pearl Drops contain an abrasive paste, which can wear down enamel, so I wouldn’t recommend it. The Hollywood Smile version contains limonene, an acid which will probably clean effectively – though it could also gradually erode the teeth enamel.”

Summarizing, Dr David Bartlett saying that “basically there are two methods – take-home dental whitening kits, where a mould is taken of your teeth and developed into plastic trays which you fill with peroxide gel and wear for a number of hours a day; or lasers, where the gel is activated by light, allowing oxygen to pass through the enamel to the dentine, bleaching it while leaving the structure of the tooth unchanged. Both methods work but for the time-poor among us, however, the laser tooth whitening is more convenient – you can go as much as nine shades lighter in your lunch hour”.

I know there may be price issues with this, but I just wanted to suggest the zoom procedure. It takes like 30 minutes, no pain, and can lift like somewhere up to 14 shades. Yeah, it did a pretty good job on my smile. Dunno. He charged me $ 800 for the Teeth Whitening and sold me a Whitening Kit for another $ 200.I had so much pain all week later. The results where not so great either. I had Teeth Whitening done in NY not long ago. I paid for the in office procedure $ 199 only. It was really good, great results without any pain and sensitivity. They are very affordable and professional. If I am not wrong they are called Teeth Whitening NYC or Magic Smile. They are located in New York City and specialize in Teeth Whitening. They also sell Whitening Kits or Products for just $ 59 if you have the patient to do it on your own. But I really recommend the service.
